NAVYA AT ITS WORLD CONGRESS 2015: A WORLD PREMIERE FOR AUTONOM SHUTTLE

CONNECTED AND DRIVERLESS VEHICLES: THE BEST OF THE INTELLIGENT TRANSPORT SYSTEMS WORLD CONGRESS

On the starting line of the ITS World Congress 2015, the 100% autonomous, driverless and electric shuttle: AUTONOM SHUTTLE. It is the first production autonomous vehicle and carried over 1500 passengers from the Exhibition Center to the Congress Center of Bordeaux.

WORLD PREMIERE: AUTONOM SHUTTLE, autonomous, driverless and electric vehicle, hit the road OF Bordeaux

The ITS 2015 was the theatre of the first laps of AUTONOM SHUTTLE on the open-road. The selfdriving shuttle transported over 1500 visitors on the open road, under real traffic conditions. Indeed, on the occasion of the exhibition, NAVYA has obtained a special permission from the French government to be allowed to achieve this World Premiere.

Thus, three AUTONOM SHUTTLES displaying the French flag colors have been simultaneously moving, interacting with passengers on board and with the external environment : traffic, lights and other drivers on the roads. Indeed, on a circuit of 2 kilometers, the AUTONOM SHUTTLE circulated in Bordeaux with full traffic and have crossed four traffic lights and two crossroads.

A convincing technological performance for passengers, which were among them Alain Vidiales, Secretary of State for Transport and Violeta Bulc, European Commissioner for Transport.

INTELLIGENT MOBILITY: OTHER NOTEWORTHY INNOVATIONS OF ITS WORLD CONGRESS 2015

ALPHA is the first electric bike based on hydrogen: autonomy and charging time of conventional electric assist bikes are often pointed out, the company Pragma Industries has developed this alternative thought for series production. Thanks to dedicated charging stations, the bike is refueled in less than 5 minutes!

Another vehicle that has been authorized to travel on open road for ITS, an individual autonomous car designed by AKKA Technologies

Finally, the Institute for Energy Transition (ITE) VeDeCoM presented its three research programs on the Vehicle, the Eco-Mobility and Training as well with four demonstrations:

  • the demonstrator by VeDeCoM autonomous vehicle,
  • connectivity platform for ITS demonstrations on the demolounge, restoring a “control tower” of demonstrators traffic
  • a demonstration of Micro-Grid and new charging systems,
  • a demonstration on the European project OPTICITIES, prototype electric autonomous vehicle, dual-mode (manual driving and driving delegation level 4).
