NAVYA LAUNCHES THE FIRST 100% AUTONOMOUS ROBO-TAXI ON THE MARKET : AUTONOM CAB
NAVYA unveiled as a World Premiere the first 100% autonomous robot-taxi on the market this Tuesday November 7, 2017 at La Cité du Cinéma (Paris) : AUTONOM CAB, two years after the launch in 2015 of AUTONOM SHUTTLE, the first 100% autonomous shuttle on the market.
AUTONOMS ARE GO! : THE UNVEILING
Christophe Sapet, NAVYA CEO, first held a press conference in front of more than 70 journalists. He then unveiled as a World Premiere the brand new vehicle of NAVYA: AUTONOM CAB, the first 100% autonomous, electric, personalized and shared robo-taxi. During this unveiling, during which 2 AUTONOMS CAB were presented in autonomous mode, he was pleased to welcome, with Louise Ekland, the presenter of the evening, Jacques Mézard, Minister of Cohesion of the territories, and Élisabeth Borne, Minister of Transport.
“This is a revolution for Mobility in city centers, this new model is the first robo-taxi to be marketed in the world … our goal is to make traffic fluid in the City, hence our new brand signature : Be Fluid“. Christophe Sapet, NAVYA CEO.
“Behind this technological innovation, I see a promise of new mobility services and it is important for me when I launched Les Assises Nationales de la Mobilité, with the ambition of offering mobility solutions for all and for all territories“. Elisabeth Borne, Minister of Transport.
Elisabeth Borne took advantage of the launch of AUTONOM CAB to announce that the government had appointed Anne-Marie Idrac, also present during the evening, as Senior Official and will participate in the development of the national strategy for autonomous vehicles.
“It’s a revolution in the relationship of men and women with the car. With these beautiful vehicles, there will be no question of hitting the gas. It is a new means of transport, a means of sharing, and with Elisabeth Borne and the government we are very keen to enter into this new mobility“. Jacques Mézard, Minister of Cohesion of the Territories.
AUTONOM CAB is therefore autonomous, electric, personalized but also shared in order to meet the new challenges that cities have encountered for several years (congestion, pollution, traffic jams …) but also to the expectations of city dwellers during their journeys.
AUTONOM CAB can carry 1 to 6 passengers and the cabin has no drive station, steering wheel or pedals. Its average speed of 50 km/h allows it to integrate itself naturally into the traffic flow.
“Imagine cities where only AUTONOMS would circulate : no more traffic jams or parking problems, less accidents, less pollution. At NAVYA, we know that the status of the individual car has changed, especially among younger generations. Young people are fewer and fewer to have their driving license and fewer and fewer attached to owning their own car. They are looking for 24/7 adapted and operational mobility solutions, guaranteeing freedom of use, a certain well-being and reduced costs. At the cutting edge of technology, AUTONOM CAB is a revolution of uses and technologies, allowing as many people as possible to have access to completely new mobility solutions“. Christophe Sapet, NAVYA CEO.
THE MOST SOPHISTICATED SENSOR ARCHITECTURE
AUTONOM CAB benefits from the most complete sensor architectures on the market with 10 Lidars sensors, 6 cameras, 4 radars, 2 GNSS antennae and one inertial measurement unit (IMU).
Thanks to the NAVYA APP , the user can order his AUTONOM CAB with his/her mobile, in privatized or shared service. The user can open and close the AUTONOM CAB door with a single click.
NAVYA has already signed various partnership agreements with transport specialists, especially with KEOLIS for Europe and the United States and with the ROYAL AUTOMOBILE CLUB (RAC WA) for Australia. These trials will make it possible to benefit from a sharing of experience to further optimize the routes and the functionalities. Other partners are expected to be announced at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2018 in Las Vegas.
Since it was founded three years ago, NAVYA has continued to lead the Mobility Revolution and is to this day the only company in the world to have a range of several autonomous vehicles on the market.
